Dialogue held between Chinese and Indonesian Gen Zers

BEIJING,Nov. 10,2022 --A dialogue between Chinese and Indonesian Gen Zers was held on Nov. 8 by Huanqiu.com and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. It presented a perspective of young people on issues of common concern in Asia and the responsibility of Asian countries in today's world.

During the dialogue,which was held online and offline,Chinese and Indonesian Gen Zers shared their opinions on issues in four areas,including global health governance,common development of Asia,digital transformation and energy transition.

Lu Kang,Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia,andDjauhariOratmangun,Indonesian Ambassador to China,addressed the activity via video link.

Lu attributed the rapid development of China-Indonesia relations to the participation and contribution of young people in the two countries,expressing his hope that young people can seize opportunities to contribute their wisdom and strength to the health and sustainable development of mankind.

Gen Z is an important driving force for digital transformation,as well as cultural exchanges in Asia in the post-pandemic era,Oratmangun expressed,while saying that he hopes that activities of such kind can be held more often in the future,to promote exchanges between Gen Zers,as well as people of the two countries.

NizaAyuningtias,head of the Chinese Language Study Program from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences,Universitas Sumatera Utara in Indonesia,expressed that it is not enough to just rely on technology to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. People in all countries must change their lifestyles in accordance with their own social and cultural conditions,and countries must reform their healthcare systems.

Jessy Abdurrahman,CEO of Zi.Care,a digital healthcare company in Indonesia,expressed that Indonesia's healthcare system currently lags behind other countries in Southeast Asia and the world,but there is a huge demand for digital healthcare in the country. To improve digital services,Indonesia must boost market demand,expand investment,and develop and apply advanced technologies,he pointed out.

"In today's world,the fate of people in all nations is closely connected. Young people of all countries should have a global vision,strengthen solidarity and cooperation,and jointly create a bright future for mankind," said Tang Ying,director of the Global Development Promotion Center of the China International Development Cooperation Agency,a co-host of the activity.
