Working Towards a Zero Waste Future: Jiuye SCM Presents China's Revolutionary Cold Chain Storage at Hortiflorexpo 2019
SHANGHAI,May 8,2019 -- Jiuye Supply Chain Management ("Jiuye SCM" or "the Company"),China's leading cold chain service provider, showcased its flower storage and shipping expertise at the Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai ("the Expo"),a significant trade show in Asia for horticultural, floricultural and gardening industries, held from April 20 to 22 in Shanghai.
According to a study released by the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) in 2018,the value of imported cut-flowers into China was US$54.9 million in 2017 an increase of 333% since 2012. Despite this, the growth of the industry remains behind its potential due to breaks in the cold chain, lack of capacity and poor handling of packages which leads to quality control issues during transportation and a high-level of waste estimated at several tonnes per year.
To solve these challenges,Jiuye SCM has developed and demonstrated at theHortiflorexpo 2019 the flower cold chain solution system for the cut-flower industry. During the event,Jiuye SCM announced new partnerships with several major suppliers and importers of cut-flowers with floral suppliers in Yunnan,Hainan,Beijing and Guangzhou. Beginning this year,Jiuye SCM will provide warehousing, processing and transportation services to facilitate these companies to solve the challenges they have faced in supply chain management and to improve the import and export of fresh-cut flowers.
To minimize the loss of fresh flowers,Jiuye SCM provides services, including multi-temperature zone storage, packaging and customized bouquet processing and temperature-controlled urban delivery. Such services can also be customized to provide a one-stop flower supply chain service, demonstrating Jiuye SCM's move up the value chain and highlighting the further growth potential of the Chinese cut-flower market.
Since 2018,Jiuye SCM has cooperated with multiple supply chain management companies in the Netherlands. In November last year, the Company visited partners in Europe to exchange ideas on flower shipping and learn from their experience in fresh flower trading and delivery. To advance its overall performance,Jiuye SCM also holds weekly meetings with established supply chain companies such as FTG and XPOL to discuss updates in the cold chain storage industry, warehouse operation, distribution and packaging.
"Businesses in China face many challenges importing flowers, including scattered markets,non-standard cold storage, and lack of sophisticated management of cold chain shipping," said Qi Bo,Head of Flower Business Department of Jiuye SCM. "We can solve these problems by skipping these problems entirely with our well-established cross-border cold chain warehousing and logistics solutions, which allow us to ship directly from the overseas production sites."
"To enable faster deliveries for consumers,Jiuye SCM will further focus on connecting supply chain services with production farms to minimize the multiple layers of dealers or agencies in the trading process," said Qi Bo.
The Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai is a three-day expo that welcomes 800 exhibitors and 31,000 participants from about 57 countries and regions, including the Netherlands,Germany,France,Italy, the U.K.,the U.S.,Canada,Australia and Japan.
