The director of the international division Institute for Information Industry (III) Ms. Vivian Huang signed two cooperative agreements with Southeast Asian partners -- the first with the Chairman of the Thai IoT Association Kampon Choksutthasut, and the second with the Vice-director of the Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (RIPT) Dr. Ha Hai Nam of Vietnam. Both MOUs will support future work on industrial exchange.

On the need for SI,IDB's Secretary General Ms. Pei-Li Chen said: "Due to the growing trend of a new digital economy, future prosperity will depend on integrated systems of hardware plus software plus services and applications that combine into value-added outputs."

After the MOU signing,Dr. Stan Schneider Vice Chair of the Steering Committee for the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) described the state of SI for industrial IoT applications from an international perspective. "If systems depend on data, think first about the data," Dr. Schneider said to highlight the importance of analysis and design in SI systems.

Participants heard from innovative Taiwanese companies such as MiTAC and Advantech who shared cutting edge smart systems ranging from smart surveillance to transport solutions.
