Buyandship, an affordable way for online shoppers to ship parcels from the world, just launched in Australia

SYDNEY,Nov. 14,2019 -- Buyandship,a cross-border e-commerce shipping services company based in Hong Kong, recently launched in Australia to offer worry-free international mail forwarding services to Australian online shoppers.

Founded in 2014,Buyandship provides global shipping services for e-commerce customers. They can choose the firm for international shipping and deals, products, and exclusives from overseas merchants. Customers can pay AU$22 for the first 2 pounds, and AU$9 per pound after the first 2 pounds in shipping fees, and receive parcels at home. Using the service, the parcels are fully tracked from end to end with an average delivery time of 7-12 working days from the arrival to the warehouse.

It currently operates collection and export warehouses in the US,the UK,Italy,Australia,Japan,South Korea,Thailand,MainlandChina,Taiwan and Hong Kong. Scheduled flights from these warehouses back to Hong Kong are arranged on a weekly basis, while the delivery fee will be based on the parcel's actual weight (not parcel size).

Back in June this year,Buyandship has secured US$2.2 million in pre-Series B funding round led by existing investor Infinity Venture Partners. Other investors include Asia-focussed VC firm SQ Capital and unnamed strategic angel investors, besides Buyandship's key management. The money will be used to improve operational efficiencies and for market expansion.

After closing its Series A funding in mid-2017,it has expanded into Mainland China,Macau,Taiwan,India,Malaysia,Singapore, and the UAE. It boasts of more than 430,000 users.

Buyandship has already signed agreements with eBay,StockX,GLADD,Drop, and other merchants to support their Asia expansions.

As per a 2018 Australia Country Commercial Guide by Export.gov,21% of Australians purchased products from international sellers in 2017,while 40% of goods were purchased from America,32% came from MainlandChina, and 22% from the U.K.,mainly due to the increased product offerings from overseas merchants and cheaper prices. A recent industry report released by Australia Post, indicates that a quarter of Australia's cross-border purchases were Fashion related, followed by Consumer Electronics (17%) and Healthy & Beauty (15%).

Wilson Chan,Co-founder,and CEO of Buyandship, says that the majority of its users are primarily motivated by the enormous difference in prices: "Buying a Dyson cleaner on Australian online store costs around AU$800,but less than AU$450 from an overseas online store. At a discount rate of nearly 45 percent, customers naturally prefer to shop from overseas stores."

"Our goal is to build a borderless, international e-commerce network for our users,so they can easily and comfortably enjoy the best bargains from around the world through our service. When they need a cutting-edge,forward-thinking e-commerce logistics service, they think of Buyandship," he added.
