Anonline ceremony launchingthe "Contemporary China and World"Joint Research Centersand the "Knowledge Sharing Initiative"was heldon June 16by the Academy ofContemporary China and WorldStudies (ACCWS),University of Buenos Aires's "Gino Germani"Research Institute of the School of Social Sciences,Pakistan's Pakistan-China Institute,andFrance's Bridge Tank.

Gao Anming,vice-president and editor-in-chief of China International Publishing Group,attended the event and delivered a speech.He said that the joint research centers and knowledge sharing initiative provide exchange platforms which will helpthe world know more aboutChina,and promote mutual understanding,mutual trust and friendship between China and othercountries.
"Ihopethat the initiativewillboost global cooperation and expandachievements in research to offerChinese wisdom andsolutionsfor the world by developing accessible and reliablepublic knowledge products,"Gao added.
Yu Yunquan,president of ACCWS,said that the exchange and cooperation mechanism and knowledge sharing initiative can makeinformation resources from all partiesmore accessible,provide betterservices for experts and scholars onChinese issuesin the world,and minimize the time cost forpeople to understand China.
Julián Rebón,secretary of Advanced Studies of the School of Social Sciences at University of Buenos Aires,Mushahid Sayed,chairman of Pakistan-China Institute and JoëlRuet,president of the Bridge Tank,shared their opinion that the joint research centers and knowledge sharing initiative will strengthen global knowledge sharing and cultural exchanges,address differences,eliminate estrangement,and promote mutual understanding and common development among peoples of all countries.
The joint research centerswill conduct joint research on topics such as global governance,mutual learning between civilizations,Belt and RoadInitiative,climate change,national and region-specific studiesthroughcollaborative research,online and offlinemultilateral and bilateral academic seminarsand field visits.
The knowledge sharing initiativewillpool resources ofACCWSand its partners to provide knowledge productsaboutChina and create an onlineknowledge and resource sharing platform. On one hand,it makes official informationmore accessible foroverseas scholars to do studies onChina; on the other hand,it explores the value of research results and cultural products.
