Worlds First Multi-break Wave Pool Enters Final Phase of Construction in Australia

GOLD COAST,Australia,July 19,2018 -- Surf Lakes has entered the final phase of construction of Australia's first full-scale surfing wave pool. When in full operation,it will be capable of producing up to 2,400 waves per hour with waves of up to 2.4 metres (8ft) face height.

Worlds First Multi-break Wave Pool Enters Final Phase of Construction in Australia

Surf Lakes uses a central wave machine to send waves in all directions, resulting in 8 separate waves of multiple size and shape

The lake and reef shaping is complete and machinery has arrived on site, ready for installation in what will become the world's largest wave machine. It will generate powerful concentric swells that radiate out across four reefs, each with a left and right wave, making 8 breaks in total-- more than any other wave pool. Each wave is shaped differently, thus creating waves of multiple sizes and types simultaneously-- a world first.

ARTISTS IMPRESSION

Below is an artist's impression of what a typical commercial facility might look like. However the first site will not contain infrastructure as it will initially be used as a demonstration site to refine the technology and provide demos to potential licensees, media and shareholders.

Former surfing world champions Mark "Occy" Occhilupo and Barton Lynch are on board as Ambassadors and will be amongst the first to surf it once complete. Commissioning and testing is expected to begin in September.
