IMAX China Box Office: Day Three of Chinese New Year

BEIJING,Feb. 8,2019 -- IMAX China is estimating approximately 36.6 million RMB in box office for the third day of Chinese New Year,which represents a nearly 67% increase over IMAX's 2018 Chinese New Year third-day results and a 6% increase from yesterday. To date,IMAX China's 2019 Chinese New Year box office performance is tracking over 28% ahead of its record-setting 2018 results.

The Wandering Earthcontinues to dominate the IMAX China box office adding an estimated 34.7 million RMB on Thursday. To date,The Wandering Earth has generated a total IMAX cume in China of approximately 85 million RMB.

The Wandering Earthis also performing strongly in its IMAX-exclusive North American run,where it grossed approximately $230,000 during its second day and ranked the #10 highest-grossing domestic film overall for the day from just 33 IMAX locations.
