Five Years of Industry-Leading Design
Recognising some of its most successful projects during its first five years of operation,Lead8 showcases its position as an industry-leading designer redefining the sectors in which it works today and into the future.
Over the last twelve months, the firm has spearheaded the design of two high-end retail developments for the popular MixC brand which are gaining industry recognition. The 80,000 square meter MixC Shenzhen Bay followed its opening with a list of awards, recognised by the International Council of Shopping Centres,MIPIM Asia and A&D China. MixC Jinan, with its Interior Design by Lead8,launched in September and has been welcomed as a new destination for more than 500 brands in the city.
One of Lead8's most high-profile collaborations is also due to complete within the anniversary year - the Beijing Daxing International Airport Commercial Landside Terminal. Appointed 'Lead Designer',Lead8 was tasked with delivering new thinking for the commercial terminal at the next-generation airport city. The scheme will feature a new breed of airport-based workplaces with integrated retail, dining and entertainment to capture the interest of the 100 million anticipated passengers at Beijing's new air hub.
Cementing its name within aviation,Lead8 is expanding its presence with two noteworthy developments at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). SkyCity, scheduled to open in phases from 2023,is one of the most influential projects in the city. The 350,000sqm development is set to revolutionise and drive the future growth of the Greater Bay Area with a design that encapsulates not only a retail destination but a major integrated development offering first-to-market,state-of-the-art experiences. The HKIA Terminal 1 renovation,an exciting upgrade for the iconic aviation hub, will also be undertaken Lead8's team.
Bringing their expertise to evolving sectors, for Shangri-La Group,Lead8 is driving the smart transformation of the existing Fuzhou Shangri-La from a high-end hotel into a mixed-use urban resort. The award-winning design is due to open in 2022,converting the property into a transport-oriented,multi-dimensional development with an emphasis on the wider community with open and public green spaces and a broad mix of uses.
Similarly,Lead8 announced its appointment this year to One Bangkok,a highly-anticipated future development that will deliver 1.83 million square meters of integrated mixed-use development on a 16-hectare site in the heart of Bangkok. As Thailand's largest integrated development, the scheme is expected to accommodate up to 200,000 people per day following its completion in 2026. Lead8 is working with a local and international consortium to complete the multi-retail component.
With the retail industry continuing to push its boundaries,Lead8 has also been engaged by leading developer Hongkong Land to deliver an innovative concept in Chongqing for 'The Ring' retail series. The development will feature one of the largest indoor botanic gardens in China, uniting people with nature in a dynamic and living retail experience.
Looking beyond its already commanding portfolio to 2020,Lead8 is set to chart new territory, taking its expertise to new markets like Australia as the design brand promises to deliver another five years of growth and success.
