Fujian Delegation Visits Indonesia and Conducts Economic, Trade, and Cultural Exchanges and Promotion
FUZHOU,China,May 12,2023 --From May 8 to May 10,Zhou Zuyi,Secretary of Fujian Provincial Committee andChairman of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People's Congress led adelegation from Fujian Province to Indonesia. During the visit,the delegationconducted a series of economic,trade,and cultural exchange and promotionactivities,deepening the friendship between Fujian and Indonesia and promotingregional collaboration between the two sides,according to the InformationOffice of Fujian Provincial People's Government.
Indonesia is Fujian's largest trading partner in ASEAN. At the China-Indonesia"Two Countries,Twin Parks" (TCTP) Economic and Trade Cooperation PromotionConference held on May 9,21 projects,including the China-Indonesia TCTPInfrastructure Construction Fund,were signed on-site,with a total contractamount of 43.2 billion Chinese yuan.
As early as 2019,Fujian proposed the China-Indonesia TCTP initiative. The ideais that establishing industrial parks in each respective country would lay thegroundwork for exploring a cooperation mechanism that features industrial,infrastructural connectivity and preferential policies,synergizing China'sBelt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Indonesia's vision for the Global MaritimeFulcrum.
The Chinese Park is centered on the Fuzhou Yuanhong Investment Zone,with aplanned area of 60 square kilometers. The Indonesian Park includes BintanIndustrial Estate,Aviarna Industrial Estate and Batang Industrial Park,with aplanned area of 87.6 square kilometers.
Fujian and Indonesia have deep historical roots. In ancient times,Fujian was akey starting point of the Maritime Silk Road,while Indonesia was a vital hubalong the route,with the earliest and largest number of Fujian settlers. Nowadays,thanks to this long-standing maritime connection,Fujian andIndonesia are forging new friendship and drawing new blueprints for commonprogress. The two sides have enjoyed closer interactions,tighter economic andtrade cooperation,and stronger growth potential,especially since the twinningof Fujian Province and Central Java Province in 2003.
