"We had a captivated audience to dig deeplyinto understanding automation for a renewable energy supply. It was a great place for us to demonstratestate-of-the-art technologies in electrical and building automation system," said Wiwiek Roberto,Project Director,Pamerindo Indonesia.
With the debut of smart electrical and building automation exhibition, both exhibitions reinforced expertise through six seminar sessions by Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative (PJCI),Association of Indonesian Standardization Society (MASTAN),and Electrical and Industries ofIndonesia(APPI). Aligned with the "100 smart cities program" by the Indonesian government, they talked about Internet-of-Things (IoT) and automation to meet the enormous demands of renewable energy production.
Indonesian government has a set target of installing 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Future renewable energy demands require the grid-edge,or technologies that are advancing the next-gen electric grid,to be more efficient and environmentally friendly. Innovation itself is predicted to boost the electricity industry by US$ 2.4 trillion over the next decade, according to a report by World Economic Forum.
"There are challenges to overcome in order to achieve our government's target. They include decarbonization, digitalization, decentralization, and disruptive technologies; that will lead to more profit and investment value to thrive in a competitive financial environment," said Eddie Widiono, founder of PJCI,at the opening of the seminar.
During the first seminar session,Adi Priyanto,Division Head of Indonesian State Electricity highlighted trends to transform the grid-edge,"In terms of cost and energy efficiency,it is important to encompass all of the major technologies, such as distributed storage, smart appliances, and electric vehicles. As they evolve,we need to ensure smart devices and automation stay on the thoughtful track."
Safety assurance is highly importantin establishing a smart city. "Through standardization and ISO,we streamline safety to maximize manufacturing and operational processes needed for smart cities," said Hendro Kusumo,Head of Standard Formulation Center,Badan Standardisasi Nasional (BSN).
Both exhibitions provided advanced technologies to drive sustainable energy and automation for smart cities. The second yearly eventspresented the smart and connected technologies, which bring positive changes to potential market worldwide.
