Brazil wants to strengthen the positioning of its food industry at CIIE
SHANGHAI,Nov. 4,2019 -- Brazil is preparing the best products in its food and beverage industry to conquer the palate of the Chinese public. The country, which was honored in the 2018 edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE),returns to China in November to "educate the palate" of the local population for Brazilian delicacies. Under the responsibility of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil),Brazil will have a national stand at the event, which in addition to showing the potential of the agricultural sector to attract foreign investments, will present products such as cheese bread, honey, sparkling wines, acai and others for tastings and exclusive classes.
The Brazilian stand has space to present the national options for attracting foreign investments and special place to invite 30 people at each tasting session. The exhibition of the products will be in charge by the entrepreneurs themselves or representatives of Brazilian companies in China region. Among the products selected are those that are most open to the Chinese market and that Brazil is able to offer on a large scale, given the huge consumer public of the Asian country.
Brazil is participating in CIIE this year to strengthen its image as a trade partner. The country bets on institutional articulation to achieve success in this edition of the event, especially in products from agribusiness. This year, special attention is given to ready-to-eat food, taking a little of the focus away from agricultural production and prioritizing the image of products that take place at the table. Therefore, the Brazilian stand will host actions that allow working the senses of sight, with images; and taste, with tastings; and offer lectures that will take place throughout the period of the fair.
Every day there will be presentations of typical Brazilian products present at the event, reinforcing their origin, quality and sustainability. "China is Brazil's main trading partner and the country's presence at CIIE 2019 strengthens this link and Brazil's image as a Chinese international partner. In addition, the Brazilian stand will present new business opportunities in the country, targeting Chinese importers and investors who will circulate through the event," says Igor Brandao,Agribusiness Manager at Apex-Brasil.
Besides being Brazil's main trade partner,China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world: between 2008 and 2018,it reached an average annual rate of around 9%. "We bet on content so that the Chinese know better what Brazil has to offer and get closer to our products. We are already present at several events in the country and being at CIIE reaffirms the importance of the Chinese market for Brazil," Brandao says.
