HANOI,Vietnam,July 30,2020 -- The coronavirus pandemic has brought about grim adversities worldwide. However,it also presents exclusive chances for small companies to expand productions and build business networks in major markets. Dony Garment,a Vietnamese garment production company, was one of those who swiftly took its opportunity and joined the global fight against the COVID-19.

Pham Quang Anh,Director of Dony Garment, checked production progress in Dony’s production facilities in Ho Chi Minh City,Vietnam

Face masks, the products Dony had switched to during the pandemic, have become the company's main revenue attribution throughout the last few months.

"We began with two local orders in March with about 70,000 units. By the end of the month,we sealed the first export order from the Middle East. Then,it was a series of shipments to Australia,Europe and the Americas, mostly from the United States,France and Canada," said Pham Quang Anh,Director of Dony Garment.

In fact,Dony Masks have met standards for protecting public health from US Food and Drug Administration (FDA),certified by Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) from France, and received CE certification from French Cert.

Dony Masks are also approved by the REACH Certificate of Compliance from Germany, which is the most vital document as it guarantees that Dony's products are compliant with the EU REACH regulation (EC).

"Since we have done business with Dony, and we have built a trust between us,Dony offered Toop Sports to distribute and sell their face masks in the US market. With Dony's help and cooperation,we can continue to produce, ship out,and sell face masks," said Razzi Yahyapour,co-owner of Toop Sports and one of Dony's partners.

Dr Margaret Harris from the World Health Organization on Tuesday described the COVID-19 pandemic as "one big wave" and warned against complacency in the northern hemisphere summer since, unlike influenza, the new virus does not follow seasons.

"We are in the first wave. It's going to be one big wave. It's going to go up and down a bit. The best thing is to flatten it and turn it into just something lapping at your feet," she said. "People are still thinking about seasons. What we all need to get our heads around is this is a new virus and... this one is behaving differently."

According to Reuters,WHO officials are trying to avoid describing a resurgence of COVID-19 cases as "waves" since this suggests the virus is behaving in ways beyond human control, when in fact concerted action can slow its spread.

Singapore currently recorded more than 50.000 confirmed cased with the government raised alarmed at community cases.

Being aware of the fact that "their gaining is someone else's loss",Pham emphasized that Dony would never sacrifice its quality for revenues since the Dony Masks was created to help the global virus prevention.

"We do not compromise on our product's quality. There was one buyer who requested us to remove the aseptic packaging to reduce the price, but we insisted on quality and so we turned away the client," Pham explained.

However,Pham said they realise that with the over-supply of facemasks currently on the market,it is now time to change tactics once again. For long-term strategy, the company will keep their traditional garment production and add an additional line of personal protective equipment (PPE).
