JAKARTA,Indonesia,July 23,2019 -- On June 13,2019,the Financial Times and the International Finance Corporation (World Bank) hosted the sixth annual Transformational Business Awards conference and awards gala in London,U.K. During the event,SIS Group of Schools received the award for the Education,Knowledge & Skills Category from a deep bench of six other outstanding nominees.

The Transformational Business Awards seek to highlight innovative,long-term private sector solutions to major development challenges,with a focus on the role of the private sector in global efforts to address climate change,achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),and eliminate poverty,particularly in fragile and conflict-affected states.

The Awards seek to underline ground-breaking and financially viable solutions that help meet the SDGs. Achievement in Sustainable Development awards will focus on health,food and water security,and education and skills,with particular attention given to the use of new technology and disruptive models. The annual award goes to start-up projects with innovative solutions and are open to all financial and non-financial private sector organisations.

Previous distinguished winners include Tata Motor Group,Alipay,Dubai and Mexico City.

The other six outstanding nominees from this year's Education,Knowledge & Skills Category include Aliat Universities (Mexico),Ashesi Universities (Ghana),Red Magisterial (Mexico),Enko Education,Phina Ma Education (Phillipines) and Nova Pioneer.

The panel of expert judges this year include Pilita Clark (Associate Editor,Financial Times),Stephanie Friedeburg (Chief Operating Officer,IFC- World Bank),Darren Welch (Director of Policy,UK Department for International Development and Kalipso Chalkidou (Director of Global Health Policy and Senior Fellow of Centre for Global Development).

In her opening speech,Pilita Clark (Associate Editor,Financial Times) described the FT-IFC award as the "Oscars" of Transformational Work.

Andrew Jack (Global Education Editor of the Financial Times) announced SIS as winner and in the words of the judges,he said,"SIS has made education excellence affordable and accessible in a major market (Indonesia) with ambitions to be a regional power house."
