The Korean Food Promotion Institute Produces Korean Food Documentary "UHD Hansik 'Multilingual Translations'" to Promote Excellence in Korean Food


- Promote Korean food through additional subtitling in six languages including English,Chinese,and Japanese -

SEOUL,South Korea,Nov. 13,2018 -- The Korean Food Promotion Institute (KFPI) translates the Korean food documentary 'Hansik,The Taste of Korea' (UHD Hansik),which produced last year to effectively promote Korean food culture and excellence of domestic food ingredients,in multiple languages and once again expected to show the value of Korean food culture worldwide.

'UHD Hansik' is part of the public TV network documentary production in 2017 that produced a total of 30 episodes with an Ultra High Definition video (UHD). It was designed to make consensus and support base about Korean food promotion and vitalization of Korea food tourism,and to convey the value and philosophy of Korean food.

'UHD Hansik',with the theme of promoting Korean traditional food culture and the excellence of domestic food ingredients,has 30 episodes in total. One of thetopics is about fermented food 'dish made with traditional fermented pastes' that shows the characteristics of Korean food. It was broadcasted last year on KBS 1 Channel,Cooking Humanity Program,and the program had the best viewer rating of 8.0%,catching Korean viewers' attention.

Based on these interests and effectiveness,KFPI will reveala total of 180 episodes of theKorean food documentary,which subtitled in six languages including English,Japanese,Spanish,French,and Arabic from this September to November,for redistribution.

Chairman of the board of the KFPI said,"Today's Korean foodis a touchstone of culture in which the Korean's unique values and traditions are embedded. By promoting Korean food culture and the excellence of food ingredient,and spreading the Korean food documentary subtitled in six languages worldwide. I hope people from all over the world will be interested in Korean food."

Meanwhile,the KFPI posted 180 'UHD Hansik' documentary,which subtitled in six languages,on the official website of the KFPI (www.hansik.or.kr) and its social media channels,and are making efforts to continuously spread the Korean food specialized documentaries.
